Lessons in Mastery
Lessons in Mastery is a six-CD set of Tony Robbins' most popular ideas and strategies. After reading Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within, and then spending 30 days with the Personal Power II audio program, Lessons in Mastery felt like Tony Robbins light.
Published in 2002, I got the impression listening to Lessons in Mastery that this was an Anthony Robbins greatest hits collection, but without the depth and nuance found in the Personal Power II program. There's nothing wrong with Lessons in Mastery, but I didn't find anything new in the material either.
Who Will Enjoy Lessons in Mastery?
If you've already read Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within and want to hear many of these same ideas discussed by the author, Lessons in Mastery is interesting. Tony Robbins adds some insights to his existing ideas, and he can be an engaging and entertaining speaker.
Who Shouldn't Listen to Lessons in Mastery?
If you haven't read any of Tony Robbins' books or listened to the Personal Power II audio program, I would skip Lessons in Mastery until you do. Lessons in Mastery just doesn't have the depth of Robbins' earlier work - in fact, listening to Lessons in Mastery was the first time I felt like I was inside an infomercial. I got the impression that Tony Robbins has delivered his material so many times to so many audiences that he has forgotten the value of depth and nuance.
Lessons in Mastery is a great audio companion to Awaken the Giant Within. Most of the material in Lessons in Mastery also appears in Awaken the Giant, and having the author discuss them is interesting.
If you've read Awaken the Giant Within and want to hear Tony Robbins discuss many of the ideas in that book, order Lessons in Master from Amazon.com today. If you would prefer to spend the time and effort to experience Tony Robbins at his best, check out the review of Personal Power II instead.
