About the Reviewer
I suspect I'm a lot like you. I want to get as much out of life as possible and enjoy the journey. I'm not particularly interested in "self help" and feel good books and programs, I'm not depressed, in therapy, or otherwise looking for something to "save" me. I just want to find ideas, strategies, insights and techniques that really work, period. When I approach the end of my life I want to know that I've done all I can to get as much out of this journey possible. If this sounds like you, read on.
I Don't Work for Tony Robbins
My reviews of Tony Robbins' books and audio programs contained in this web site are generally very favorable and readers might assume this is some kind of advertising on Tony Robbins' behalf. I assure you, it's not. I don't work for Tony Robbins or any of his companies (I'm self-employed), they don't sponsor this web site in any way, shape, or form, I've never attended a Tony Robbins live event, and I've never met Tony Robbins.
And that's very important in understanding why this web site exits. I've read about some of the accusations made about Tony Robbins, I've seen criticism saying Tony Robbins is a fraud, and I've read allegations about his seminars that I personally find disappointing. However, my concern is that people may miss out on the incredible contributions Tony Robbins has made by focusing on this negativity, regardless if it's true or not. My advice is to forget about the man and focus on the message.
So Why a Web site About Tony Robbins?
So why spend time and energy reviewing Tony Robbins' books and audio programs if I'm not getting paid to do it? To answer that question honestly, I need to tell you a short story.
I found Tony Robbins entirely by accident. While reading a book - and it drives me crazy that I can't remember what book - I saw a glowing reference to Unlimited Power. The author was so impressed by Tony Robbins that I ordered Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within that same day. I started reading Unlimited Power on a Saturday and literally could not put the book down. If it's possible to devour a book, I did. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough I was so excited.
Unlimited Power was exactly what I had been looking for. At the time, I had no idea who Tony Robbins was, but I devoured the 400+ page book in one day. I was mesmerized
After reading and re-reading Unlimited Power, Awaken the Giant Within, and listening to the 30-day audio program Personal Power II, I mentioned Tony Robbins to a friend. "Isn't he the late-night infomercial guy?", my friend asked, with a slightly disparaging tone and a "what is wrong with you?" look in his eyes. I had no idea what my friend was talking about (like I said, I'd never heard of Tony Robbins - apparently I grew up in a cave). So I searched online for information about Tony Robbins and started to read conflicting views about his books, audio programs, and seminars. I hate to admit it, but I let what I read cloud my judgment. I started second-guessing the material and myself.
In retrospect, I'm embarrassed to admit I was so easily swayed by the opinions of others. If you spend some time digging around on the Internet, you'll surely find someone who says "I tried this Tony Robbins stuff and it worked for a while, but then it stopped working. He sucks." Ignore them. Start by reading Unlimited Power (they're practically giving it away at Amazon.com) - you'll be happy you did. Buy copies for your friends - they'll love you for it.
And don't worry what you've heard or read about Tony Robbins - like all of us, he has his human frailties. However, his contribution to the fields of personal development, peak performance, and success conditioning are extraordinary. He has affected millions of lives, counseled professional athletes, Olympians, heads of state, and everyone in between. If you're experience is anything like mine, what you learn from Tony Robbins may be the most important first step you take toward personal fulfillment. Enjoy.
